Why I Created the “How to Win Time” Journal Before Writing the Book

For a long time, I’ve had a vision for a book—How to Win Time. It’s about energy, intention, and making the most of every moment. But instead of waiting until the book was done, I decided to start by creating something people could use right now: journals.
These aren’t just any journals. They are designed with a specific focus on energy, because winning time isn’t about managing your schedule—it’s about managing your energy.
Why Start with Journals?
Many people think a book comes first. But for me, launching a series of journals is the perfect way to set the foundation for what How to Win Time will eventually become.
✅ Journals are actionable. People can use them immediately and experience the benefits before the book is even published.
✅ They create daily engagement. A journal isn’t something you read once and forget—it becomes part of a daily routine.
✅ They build a connection to the bigger vision. Each journal is a stepping stone to the larger concepts I’ll cover in the book.
The 3 Journals in the Series
I wanted to create simple, powerful tools that help people direct their energy in different ways.
1️⃣ How to Win Time: Morning Energy Pages Journal
• A space to clear your mind, focus, and set the tone for your day.
• Inspired by The Artist’s Way morning pages yet designed with energy in mind.
2️⃣ How to Win Time: I AM Energy Affirmation Journal
• A journal for self identity reprogramming using the power of “I AM” statements.
• Every page starts with “I AM _______”, allowing you to shape your reality with intentional words.
(Sidebar: I created a 10 minute custom I AM affirmation with meditation music that is personalized to my goals that I listen to every time I go for a run. This is an incredibly powerful way to reprogram your self-image. As the meditation plays I repeat the affirmations out loud with enthusiasm and conviction. More on this idea to come.)
3️⃣ How to Win Time: Creative Energy Dream Journal
• A journal for dreaming, manifesting, and creative flow.
• Features lined pages for writing + blank pages for sketching your ideas and visions.
Each of these journals serves a specific purpose, but they all connect back to the same core idea—energy management is the key to making the most of your time.
Why This Works as a Book Pre-Launch
What makes this strategy powerful is that it’s not just about selling journals—it’s about building a movement around the How to Win Time concept before the book even exists.
• People are already engaging with the idea.
• The book will feel like the natural next step.
• Each journal leads back to my platform via QR codes.
This way, when How to Win Time is finally published, it won’t just be a book launch—it will be the culmination of a living, breathing practice that people are already doing.
What’s Next?
With the first journal already in review and the next two coming soon, I’m excited to see how people use them. The next steps?
🔹 Order author copies and test the final print quality
🔹 Begin sharing them with my audience
🔹 Continue building out the Flow App, which complements the journals
This is just the beginning, and I know these journals will not only help me write the book but also help others win time in their own lives.
